Ensure that IP User Licenses are entered in the License and Option Selection form. For more information, see About IP User and Device Licenses.

IMPORTANT: If the host ICP is not part of a cluster (that is, it is a standalone system), you must assign it a PBX Number with the local IP address of the controller in the ICP/PBX Networking form. Then, assign this PBX Number as the CEID in the Cluster Elements form.

Add a PBX number (local Network Element already configured).
ICP/PBX
Networking form
Select the newly added ICP.
Select the new PBX Number and click Change Member for this ICP/PBX.
Set Local PBX to Yes.
Enter the ICP IP address of the local controller in the Network IP Address field.
Click Save.
Cluster
Elements form
Click Create Cluster to create a new cluster. The cluster is created and the local element is added as a member by default.
Assign a name to the cluster. You do not need to assign a PNI to the cluster.
Click Save.
Select the cluster member and click Change Member.
Enter the PBX Number that you entered in the ICP/PBX Networking form as the CEID number in the Cluster Element ID field.
Set Local to Yes.
Enter a directory number in the Feature DN field to establish a feature directory number on the local element.
Click Save.
Set Hot Desk Login Accept to Yes.
Click Add > Default User and Device.
Clear Hot Desking User.
Set Service Level to IP Device Only.
Enter profile, device details, and service details for the set.
Assign the COS programmed in step 1.
NOTE: As of MiVoice Business 7.0, you have the option to use a simplified and faster installation and auto-provisioning method to deploy Userless Devices that allow hot desk login, but do not require a license. With this Automatic DN Selection registration method, a device can be registered and brought to service without being pre-configured first and the installer does not need to specify the device's Directory Number (DN) - only the Set Registration Access Code - to initiate the registration. See Registering and Auto-provisioning Multiline IP telephones without a DN for details.
Ensure that Interconnect Restriction and Intercept Handling are programmed for each hot desk user. See Program Multiline IP Telephones for instructions.
To program a hot desk user:
Click Add > Default User and Device.
Select Hot Desking User.
Set Service Level to Full Service or Multi-Device.
Assign a user name, department and location.
Enter a User PIN.
PINs must be from 0 to 8 characters in length. Only digits (0 to 9) are permitted.
Re-enter the PIN in the Confirm User PIN field.
Assign the COS programmed in step 1.
Multiline
Set Keys form (optional)
Assign a directory number (line appearance) or feature to each key.
Assign each line appearance a ring type.
For 5604, 5607, and 5614 Wireless Phones, provision a Multicall Line Appearance of the user's DN on the phone to allow use of device-based features (Hold, Transfer, Conference, etc.). Set the Ring Type to RING.
Set HCI/CTI/TAPI Call Control Allowed to Yes.
Set HCI/CTI/TAPI Monitor Allowed to Yes.
Set Hot Desk Auto Logout Timer (optional).
Station
Attributes form
Assign a Class of Service, Class of Restriction, and Intercept Number.

NOTE: For Hot Desk PIN Security to work, each hot desk user must have a voice mailbox on the MiVoice Business system.
Scheduler

The Scheduler can log out Hot Desk users at regular times, such as the end of every day—a convenient and reliable way to protect against unauthorized use of unattended devices. You can schedule the logouts to apply to all Hot Desk users, internal Hot Desk users only, or External Hot Desk users only. See Scheduling Hot Desk User Logouts.
Program the device (if required).

Assign feature access codes (FACs) for Hot Desk Login, Hot Desk Logout, and Hot Desk Remote Logout.
NOTE: Hot Desk Login and Logout FACs apply to MiNET hot desk devices only.

the Site Preference for Hot Desk
Device field.
The selected device is used as the default in the Desktop Tool.
You can program a Busy Lamp Field (BLF) indicator on an IP Phone, PKM, or IP Console application to monitor a Hot Desk user's logged-in/logged-out status. Program the BLF indicator on the monitoring device against the Hot Desk user's directory number. When the Hot Desk user is logged out, the BLF indicator lamp on a IP Phone or PKM blinks at a rate of 438 mS OFF; 62 mS ON. On a MiVoice Business Console, logout status is indicated by the appearance of a grey status icon in the BLF panel.

Open the Multiline
IP Sets form.
Select the Hot Desk user DN from the list.
Click Change.
From the change form,
enter a new PIN in the User PIN and Confirm User PIN fields.

9) are permitted.
Click Save.
